Book Blogger Hop: Do you always have a book with you?

Do you always have a book with you?

Yes, absolutely.
I always have either my Kindle or I have my phone that has the Kindle app and the audible app.
Sometimes, but rarely, I also have a paperback.
I don't like lugging paperbacks around anymore though.
They take up too much space, they get damaged as I throw things in and out of my bag, they're awkward while trying to read and eat/drink, and everybody can see what you're reading.
I want to read in peace!
I don't want to deal with questions, comments, snark, smirks or even fangirl/boyish excitement while I'm reading... I just want to read. In peace. Thanks.

I must admit that even though I always have books on me, I don't often read while out and about. This is pretty much because if I'm out, I'm out to do something and reading isn't it.
Even lunchbreaks have turned into catch up with friends breaks instead of escape into a book breaks.
Reading on the train or in a coffee shop are things I very much love but just don't get much opportunity to do... My reading time tends to be housebound and in the house, I have all my books.

  1. If I'm going on holiday or a day trip I take a book out with me, in case we hit traffic or my dad goes off photographing nature stuff and I need to amuse myself! I don't take a book if I'm going shopping or a quick trip out.

    1. I can't read in cars... Make me feel sick. So does reading on buses. Only planes or trains for reading on the move.

  2. *highfivesyou* I always have a book with me as well. If not on my phone than on my Kindle which I frequently carry in my purse (when I carry one).

  3. I don't go out much these days but back when I did I didn't bring books with me. If I go out somewhere I want to do whatever we're doing and I don't read.

    1. I get bored in kids playgrounds. Books save my sanity. :)

  4. Great answer! I'm also not a huge fan of paperbacks since they tend to tear easily, especially when you are traveling with them.

    1. Torn pages, creased and scratched covers... Not to mention extra weight. Not worth the effort usually.

  5. I bring a physical book with me if I know I'm going to be waiting somewhere (like a doctor's office) but otherwise I usually just bring my phone with some audiobooks on it and my headphones. A lot easier to carry!

  6. I used to constantly read when I was out, even in the line at the grocery store. It was way too convenient to always have a book on my phone on the Kindle app. But lately I don't do that as often.

  7. Same. My Kindle is always in my bag, and if worse comes to worse, I can read on the app. You never know, when you will need some reading material. I always have audiobooks on my phone too

  8. I almost always have a book with me, unless I have a really small purse or something and I can't fit it. lol Otherwise, it's my Kindle or whatever physical book I'm reading. I like to be prepared!
