TTT: Auto-Buy Authors

Auto-Buy Authors

This question isn't as easy as it should be to answer.
The simple fact is, I don't automatically buy many authors any more and the ones I do? Well, I fear the answer is all too obvious as I talk about them constantly and they feature almost constantly on my lists!
I'm going to sound like a broken record but here we go again anyway!

Ilona Andrews

Yes. I love their work.
They can write an instruction manual on the upkeep of daisies and I'm going to read it.

Kalanya Price

She wasn't on my auto-buy list until I read the Alex craft series back in May but now she absolutely is!

Annette Marie

Another author who wasn't on my list two months ago but now is! Especially until the Guild Codex series (plural) are finished but likely beyond!

Mariana Zapata

The queen of slow-burn romance and a definite auto-buy.

Karen Chance

The Cassie Palmer series is a big love of mine so Karen Chance is on this list!

Sarah J. Maas

I know people have a love/hate relationship with Maas's books but I love them so I'm going to keep buying them even if it takes me a while to get around to read them!

Kylie Scott

Funny, sexy, books that give me all the feels. Some are better than others but all have been worth a read and that's why Kylie Scott is still an autobuy.

Rick Riordan

Fun, quirky, sarcastic, brave and 100% wonderful characters. Action-packed adventures. Myths and legends. What is not to love?

  1. I swear, one of these I really am going to read something by Marianna Zapata! Any suggestions on which one to start with? Kylie Scott is one that I really like but not quite an auto-buy.

    1. From Lukov With Love is my absolute favourite!

I've yet to read Kulti or Rhythm, Chord and Malykin but I have them and I plan to this summer. I guess any of them would be a good place to start EXCEPT Lingus... That was her first and not the best to be honest.

  2. Sarah J. Maas is definitely an auto-buy author for me! Karin Slaughter is too :)

    1. My mum loves Karin Slaughter! I'm not much of a crime/mystery/thriller fan.

  4. I also don't have many auto-buy authors. My list would be very short. =P I really need to read Kalanya Price's books.

    Happy readings! ;)

  6. If you asked me this years a go 10 wouldn't be enough but now I have very few, if any, auto-buy authors.

Too many books to read, too many disappointments and I'm pickier now. I'll check out new releases of certain authors but I won't necessarily auto-buy.

    1. I'm with you. My autobuy authors years ago were easy and abundant but it's much harder now. I think its because there's so much more choice now and so many more ways to access books (ebook only, paperback, audio, kindle unlimited, library...) it's harder to keep track and for authors to hold my attention.

  7. Great picks. I haven't read many of those. My #1 auto buy author is Christine Feehan.

    1. She used to be an autobuy for me but that changed 5/6 years ago. I always end up catch up though.

  8. Annette Marie is an author I want to try. The Three Mages books seem to be getting raves, and they look awesome. :) And I can't believe I've never read Riordan. Weird.

    1. I can't believe you've never read Riordan either! lol
I'm on a mission to convince UF lovers (and non UF lovers!) to read the Guild Codex books. I seriously love them. Favourites of the year so far.

  9. I chose a different topic this week because, like you, I feel like I talk about my favorite authors ALL THE TIME. Out of yours, I've only read Rick Riordan and that was only THE LIGHTNING THIEF. I liked it, but I didn't continue with the series for some reason.

    Happy TTT!

  10. I have read both SJM's series, and I am a fan. I would probably not think twice about picking up a book by Scott either. Sometimes, I want that kind of romance, you know? And, I think she does it well.

    1. I love her kind of romance. It's so unapologetically romance. She doesn't try to be anything else.

  11. Ilona Andrews, Maas and Chance! Oh yes for me too. I think my pocketbook is glad that the library carries so many of these for me. :D

    1. Maas I can get in the library here but Andrews and Chance is mostly a big no. :(

  12. I don't really have a ton of auto-buy authors either. There are definitely authors I've grown to love and want to read all of their backlist, like V.E. Schwab.
