Ten Signs That You're A Book Lover

You always have a book on you.
It doesn't matter whether it's a physical book, an ereader, or a reading/audiobook app on your phone, you are never without the ability to consume a story.

You collect bookish things (and in some cases have no idea what to do with them!)

You say things like, "it's not as good as the book," when watching tv/movie adaptations and you're not even sorry.

You already own more books than you can read in a year (or, you know, ten) but you still pile more on because you'll get to them eventually.

Libraries and bookstores are your happy places (and leaving without a new book is just rude.)

You'd rather read than talk to people or go out and do stuff that involves interacting with people.

You know that anything can be used as a bookmark.

You really want to read a book but you keep putting it off because of the anticipation/expectation/fear etc. If you don't read it, it can't disappoint you! But if you don't read it you'll never know how awesome it can be! Argh, the dilemma!

You understand that reading is not "doing nothing."
And you won't judge your fellow book lover for nutting the one stupid enough to suggest it is...

You'll never understand the person that doesn't like books...

What have I missed?

  1. I definitely always have a book with me. Without fail. Leaving the house without a book (in some form) is unthinkable! And owning more books that I can possibly read in the next year (or my lifetime LOL) - yep, guilty. And I put off reading books that I am sure I will love ALL THE TIME! It's like I enjoy the anticipation as much as I will (probably) enjoy the book. :)

    1. I've used some truly weird things... But I'm also not afraid to dog-ear so that's probably not surprising!

  3. I take an entire library with me wherever I go. It's my cell phone with Kindle on it. Other people play games, I read. http://pmprescott.blogspot.com/2020/03/ttt-033120.html

  4. My mother always gets mad, and says, "what are you going to do, stay inside and read?" The answer is obviously yes. I do prefer reading to talking to people. I also have way more books, than I could ever read in my lifetime, YET I know I will buy more.

  5. I really can't understand people who don't read. They make no sense to me! Same thing with walking into a book that has no books anywhere. I mean, who lives like that??

    Happy TTT!

  6. "You say things like, "it's not as good as the book," Haha right? I do that all the time. :)

And yes I'd rather read than do lots of other things! Also I have to say I don't get the not reading thing either. Good grief, what would I DO?

    1. Yep! It's not a movie adaptation if I'm not sitting there sticking it to the movie, lol.

  8. I certainly own more books than I could read in about seven years I think! And that is if I don't buy any more which is never going to happen! If I was a vampire, I'd be very happy to spend eternity reading and watching TV all the time-with the occasional nibble on a neck or two of course!

  9. Love your Disney gifs for these. I totally agree with this entire list! For a while, I couldn't get my kids to read, and I was pretty sure they had been taken over by aliens and couldn't possibly have been raised in my household. :-)

  10. Every one of these is so relatable, especially the one about owning more books than you can possibly read, lol.
