The Little Bookshop of Love Stories by Jaimie Admans

Today is the Mondayest Monday ever. Hallie Winstone has been fired – and it wasn’t even her fault!

Having lost her job and humiliated herself in front of a whole restaurant full of diners, this is absolutely, one hundred percent, the worst day of her life.

That is until she receives an email announcing that she is the lucky winner of the Once Upon a Page Bookshop!

Owning a bookshop has always been Hallie’s dream, and when she starts to find secret love letters on the first pages of every book, she knows she's stumbled across something special.

Things get even better when she meets gorgeous, bookish Dimitri and between them, they post a few of the hidden messages online, reuniting people who thought they were lost forever.

But maybe it’s time for Hallie to find her own happy-ever-after, too?

This book is an ode to all book lovers. A big warm cuddle of bookish delight. A tribute to brick and mortar bookstores and the joy of holding a physical book in your hands.
It is utterly and completely enchanting and all things that are wonderful about books.
It made me smile from cover to cover. It made me want to own a bookshop. It made me want to find a second hand bookstore and start my own search for messages written within the pages.
It was delightful.

Hallie and Dimitri are quirky, clumsy and relatable. They are me, and they are you, (i.e ordinary people, living their lives, and loving books) and watching them fall in love while breathing new life into an old bookstore brought nothing but happiness.
This pair were made for each other and even the predictable "twist" (and subsequent overreaction) couldn't dim the feeling of bookish euphoria this book generated in me as I knew it would all work out in the end and it did.

This book is completely unapologetic in what it is. It's a feel-good romance, full of wish fulfilment,  with a definite happy ever after that leaves you feeling invigorated and optimistic.
It was exactly what I needed at the moment and I know that when I think of this book I'll smile, so I'd say that's a job well done for the author!

  1. Aw, this sounds so lovely, and comforting. I love books about books - bookstores, writers, libraries, etc. - so that's a major plus for me!

    1. Me too! The authors love of all things bookish bled through in every page of this... It was a proper love story for booklovers.

  2. I am always looking for more feel good romances -- those are my favorites. And, the heroine is bookish. Like we say in these parts, winner winner, chicken dinner.

    1. Both main characters are very bookish so it was a double win! It was so simple and sweet, clumsy and dorky. I adored it!

  4. Awww it does sound enchanting. I feel like this kind of predictable, it’s all about the journey Book is just what we need right now in this climate. I’ve found myself unable to stomach a lot of my normal kind of books.

    1. It was definitely something I needed! Things are too rough at the moment for more anxiety and angst even when they're book induced!

  6. I need this book in my life! I've had rotten luck with books lately, and this one sounds absolutely lovely. Definitely adding it to my TBR, and then I'm going to check and see if my library has a copy. :)
