What I Liked:
I liked the laid back nature of this book. The simplicity of Kate and Curran going on a date. Sure, this is Kate and Curran so no date is simple but I loved how they roll with the weird stuff and love each other fiercely through the chaos and I absolutely loved the neo-vikings... They were hilarious.
What I Didn't Like:
Nothing. This was a fun filled quick read.
Other Thoughts:
This novella is after book 5 in the series, Magic Slays, and takes place at the same time as Andrea's book, Gunmetal Magic. It was pretty cool watching the stories intersect.
I also enjoyed the developments with the guild following on from the events in Book four, Magic Bleeds, therefore I wouldn't recommend reading this out of sync with the main series.

He turned to me, a dreamy look on his pretty face. "We killed things. There was blood. Fountains of blood. And then we had barbecue.”

Novellas are nice when you don't have time to read a larger book.

ReplyDeleteMe too! There's something so... Deliciously primitive about it but I love it. Curran is the alpha of the alphas yet he happily lays out 'ownership' of himself to Kate. It's yummy! 😉
